Naimatullah, 6, is comforted by his grand-father, Malik Haji, after surgery  in a Combat Support Hospital on Salerno base near Khost, Afghanistan on Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2008. Naimatullah was wounded when an improvised explosive device detonated while he was returning from the market  on a motorcycle with his family in Zormat District, Paktika Province. His father, brother and friend were killed in the incident. He lost his left hand and received severe shrapnel injuries that has required multiple surgeries. His sister, 4, was also burned but ran to get help from her grandfather. A US Army patrol was nearby and evacuated them to the combat support hospital.
